TOSYALI ALGÉRIE
With our fully integrated facility design in Tosyalı Algérie, which sets an example for the world steel industry, we produce with carbon emissions below the world DRI emission average, thanks to the advanced technologies, highest capacity usage and hot charging structure of our DRI facility design.
Energy Efficiency
We are aware that investments are one of the most important steps that can be taken to minimize fossil fuel use, enable decarbonization and increase energy efficiency.
The iron and steel sector is one of the largest energy consumers among all industrial sectors. It is an energy-intensive industry and the main energy carriers are coal, liquid and gaseous fuels and electricity.
The benefits of energy efficiency in an energy intensive industry are therefore widely recognized. This is because, beyond cost savings, the increased efficiency and competitiveness associated with improved energy management encourages investments in energy efficiency in many cases.
We managed to prevent 154 thousand tons of greenhouse gas emissions in 2021 with the long-term efficiency investments we made at various points of the production lines.
Renewable Energy
In 2021, we started solar power plant investment investment in Algeria and we have commissioned solar power plant with 55MW.
By ensuring the traceability of the energy we produce, we have certified that our electricity is generated from renewable sources by obtaining the International Green Energy Certificate (I-REC).
